I have tried to obtain my free annual credit report, but evertime I do it tells me it cannot be processed at this time; when I try to get something in my name I cant because they tell me its fraud… What can I do to fight that? I am in NC. thanks

Best to pay for your credit report to see exactly what is going on.
You also need to file a police report. And send a copy to the irs explaining the issue. Sounds like they may also file taxes in your name and take your refund next year.
Get started now as it is a slow and annoying process to reclaim your identity.
Along with alerting the local and federal law enforcements, I would get in touch with the social security administration and tell them that you suspect that someone might have stolen your identity. Have your birth certificate and driver’s license and any other documentation you may have that proves that you are who you say you are. Good luck.
