You should go to your bank and ask for one.
It is safer, because they are establish business that you can physically see. Online, not as safe, anyone can be call a credit report company, but in fact they just want you to enter your credit card number so they can use it.

freecreditreport .com it does work, and it’s free.
otherwise, try looking up transunion, or experion and requesting your report from them via mail.

annualcreditreport.com
It’s not going to give you your FICO score because it’s a Government website and free. Most of those other ones have hidden fees. You can get your report from all three credit bureaus. You can fix your credit by getting a shared secured loan. This is a loan you borrow against. Say for me I took seven hundred dollars to the bank and then you borrow against it and re-pay within time. You can go to as low as three hundred. You will also have to pay an interest rate. Credit cards really do not help build up your credit but loans do. That’s what I did due to unpaid medical bills when I was younger. You can also borrow a small loan with a high interest rate which sounds awful but it worked for me from one of those small loan companies. It is not going to happen overnight though. They want to see at-least a six month history of responsibility.

I know where I live you can go to the local credit bureau and get a credit report for $10. You actually have to make an appointment and go there is the only drawback.

Try one of the major credit reporting agencies…there are only three. I use Eqifax since they will give you information from all three agencies. If you feel that your credit has been comprimised then you may be eligible for a free report. If not…there usually is a fee.

I wouldn’t give your credit card number online. Your bank is the best and safest bet. Plus they can give you advice on how to improve your credit rating if it isn’t good.

How can you have credit if you do not have any credit cards. You really need to have that in order to have or get a credit report. The only other thing that I can suggest is to write to them and explain you situation or call them. I am sure you can get a telephone number or and address online. I wish you luck.

Check again; it’s operated by the Federal Trade Commission and doesn’t require a credit card. You’ll have to answer a series of questions regarding your history, but a credit card is needed only to purchase your score — not to view your report.

you can get a free annual credit report from all three major credit tracking companies. you will not receive your fico score but you can opt to pay a small fee to one of the three to determine that as well.

Trans-Union is the best place to get a credit report. After 7 years your credit should be clean from the credit cards. Besides most credit cards are non-secure debts. Don’t online anything personal as this credit reporting it is not safe.

If does not work for you, call 1-877-322-8228 and request that hardcopies be mailed to you (its an automated phone call).

I have never seen where they ask for a credit card number, unless they are going to charge you. Do not use those sites. You are allowed one free credit report a year at some of the above mentioned sites. They then find your credit card numbers, yes, even the old numbers, and then tell you your score.
Do not give out your credit card number to any site, unless you plan on getting charged for something!!

If you dont have a credit card you have to write to all three
credit reporting agencies and request a copy of your credit report. The reason you have to write is to correct the errors and mistakes at the 3 main credit reporting bureau.
Also you can use your debit bank card as a credit card if you have one. Call the credit bureau in your local city and talk to one of the agent. They can also help you on the phone.
Good Luck!!!

Go to freecreditreport.com or annualcreditreport.com
you can probably get a better response from ANSWERS as to how to read your report for the purpose you want to use it for, please give some detail as to what your purpose is other then that you ?HAVE CREDIT? you sound like you need a good score for some reason?? more importantly what is on your report that could hold you back from getting a loan for a specific purchase? If your credit is messed up you need to do some heavy reading on the subject to not get in any deeper by some so called “credit helpers”

I am afraid not many people are credit smart. But everyone here has giving you some great advise, so congratulations to you all for the great input in the advise given.
I know is frustrating and I know is easier said than done, but take your time and take one step at a time and yes they are 3 major credit companies. You should obtain that information from them and not via computer, even if they tell you is a secure connection you should not trust that.
I know is easier and faster but not the most secure thing to do.
This things take time. Take your time , trust me when I say this, It took me a while to clean mine. but rather that than to rush it.
Don’t give up , I am sure you will get it done right.
Good luck to you.

Everyone who posted annualcreditreport.com or posted links to the FTC site is correct.
annualcreditreport.com is the “true” FTC site where you can get your free FACT-ACT, once a year, score not included, credit card not needed, credit reports.
(freecreditreport.com is NOT a government site !! )
Thanks for the nod LeLe, I’ve tried to put the most pertinent FTC info in there. But, *sigh*, so much FTC info and so little space.
