The three credit bureaus all have sites set up that offer free credit reports if you sign up for their monitoring services. There probably other companies too. It’s not that they are actually scams, but they sorta skim over that requirement to sign up for the monitoring services.
I think FreeCreditReport.com is the worse. The name is very misleading and their commercials seem to be very effective.
